Job Summary
Thermodynamics Specialist responsible for performing complex analyses in heat transfer, piping networks, thermodynamics, and aircraft icing; interpreting results within aircraft design and sizing context; developing and preparing test plans; documenting analytical and flight/ground test results; drafting and updating the client's engineering practices and standards; requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with relevant CFD/thermofluids coursework and 8–12 years of experience, proficiency in MS Office, potential familiarity with Siemens Flomaster, and programming skills (Fortran, C/C++, Python) plus strong communication and travel availability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (with coursework/projects in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, in-flight icing, and/or CFD)
- 8 to 12 years of experience in heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and aircraft icing
- proficiency with MS Office (advanced Excel)
- experience with Siemens Flomaster is an asset
- programming experience with Unix and languages such as Fortran 77/95, Visual Basic, C++/C#, Python is an asset
- strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- availability to travel short-term (one to two weeks)
