Job Summary
Propulsion Systems Specialist sought to join a Montreal-based aerospace manufacturer’s Propulsion Systems Engineering team. Responsible for supporting one or more propulsion systems (fuel, powerplant, FTIS, FIDEEX, APU, etc.), managing interfaces and integrating assigned systems with stakeholders, defining propulsion system architectures and requirements, performing trade-off studies, collaborating on multidisciplinary projects, managing engineering requirements through verification, preparing and approving engineering design documentation, technical supplier management, supporting test platforms, leading technical investigations, analyzing system data to identify issues and propose corrective actions, and ensuring program schedule milestones are met. Requires a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 7-12 years of aerospace experience; knowledge of propulsion systems and related disciplines; familiarity with DO-160 and ARP4754A; experience with design tools and simulation software; strong analytical and communication skills; willingness to travel; and bilingualism is an asset.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from a recognized university
- 7 to 12 years of relevant aerospace engineering experience
- Knowledge of propulsion systems and related technical disciplines (systems installation, pneumatics, avionics, electrical systems)
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, gas dynamics, combustion, fluid mechanics, control systems
- Knowledge of component qualification standards (DO-160)
- Familiarity with the system development assurance process (ARP4754A)
- Experience with systems design tools and simulation software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for data analysis, reporting, and presentations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent teamwork, ability to work autonomously in multidisciplinary environments
- Strong organizational and task coordination skills
- Willingness to travel for short-term assignments
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
