Job Summary
Source and evaluate suppliers for woven, knitwear, and apparel based on buyer requirements, managing the end-to-end sourcing cycle from vendor identification through production follow-up and timely delivery. Coordinate sourcing activities with assigned suppliers aligned with annual and seasonal supply plans while conducting regular evaluations on quality, capacity, compliance, and pricing. Prepare, review, and validate detailed garment cost sheets including fabric, trims, and overheads, benchmark vendor pricing across regions, and lead cost negotiations with mills and manufacturing partners. Track project status, provide early-stage cost visibility during design, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize margins. Bridge commercial, design, production, and overseas vendors to ensure products meet quality, cost, and timeline expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Understanding of fabrics (knit and woven), yarns, construction, finishes.
- Knowledge of elastics, trims, labeling, and embellishment processes.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric types, trims, dyeing, printing techniques, production processes
- Strong costing intuition & analytical ability.
- Excel proficiency (pivot tables, costing models, data analysis, development project tracking).
- Familiarity with PLM/ERP systems (Blue Cherry is an asset).
- Proven supplier negotiation experience; experience with international sourcing
