Job Summary
Deploy, configure, and maintain hardware for conference rooms, smart boards, and video conferencing systems while diagnosing real-time AV infrastructure anomalies. Execute low-voltage cabling routes, perform routine system health-checks, and manage firmware upgrades across campus-wide media systems. Monitor building comfort parameters, change HVAC filters, and program localized thermostat schedules via the Building Management System. Support physical logistics including desk transitions, modular furniture reconfigurations, and event staging setup. Conduct systematic safety rounds to verify fire extinguishers and emergency egress lighting compliance. Act as the primary technical point of contact for external AV integrators and OEM support lines. Role is on-site Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years in commercial facility management or corporate building systems
- At least 1–2 years heavily dedicated to technical audio-visual (AV) support and infrastructure maintenance
- Robust knowledge of hardware signal flow topologies, matrix switchers, and control system frameworks (e.g., QSYS, Crestron, Extron, AMX, or Biamp ecosystems)
- Core competency in IP network architectures (understanding DHCP allocations, Wi-Fi connectivity diagnostics, and basic network switch port verification) as they intersect with AV-over-IP endpoints
- High proficiency with standard trade tools, power equipment, and specialized diagnostic instruments
- Clear understanding of commercial structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing assemblies
- Ability to routinely lift, carry, push, or pull facilities equipment and technical hardware up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working at heights on ladders, automated scissor lifts, and navigating tight spatial configurations (e.g., underneath conference tables, inside drop-ceilings, or behind technical equipment racks)
- Availability and willingness to adapt schedule for occasional early morning or late evening shifts to facilitate high-profile production support or execute disruptive infrastructure maintenance
- Role is on-site Monday through Friday
Desired Qualifications
- AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) credential
- Relevant building trade certifications, facility credentials, or an OSHA 10/30-hour certification
