Job Summary
The WHS Specialist develops, implements, and maintains health and safety programs to prevent workplace injuries and ensure compliance with occupational safety regulations. Responsibilities include risk assessments, leading safety training, investigating incidents, serving as liaison for site regulatory inquiries (OSHA, EPA, FDA or state equivalents), responding to inspections, coordinating with the Director WHS and Legal on investigations, overseeing the site regulated waste program and on-site security, and collaborating with on-site pharmacy and lab teams to ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and USP; requires a BS/BA degree in safety or related field and 1-2 years of WHS experience. Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to work with Hazardous Drugs; PPE worn for handling hazardous drugs (gloves, respiratory protection, gown, etc.)
- Medical approval to wear respiratory protection (N95, full-face respirator, SCBA, or PAPR)
- Physical exertion demands (walking up to 50%, standing up to 100%, lifting up to 50 lbs)
