Specialist - Technical Accounting (Fixed Term Contract)

Job Summary
Lead technical accounting for the marketing finance function by reviewing proposed commercial transactions to identify accounting impacts and presenting clear explanations to non-finance stakeholders regarding commercial and legal drivers. Research, prepare, and review documentation supporting adopted accounting positions while coordinating with Group Finance and external auditors on all technical matters. Prepare and review interim and year-end Group reporting submissions for IFRS compliance, manage statutory account preparation for Marketing entities, and ensure accounting policies align with Group Finance requirements. Engage with senior stakeholders to influence transactions before execution and support the implementation of new accounting policies across systems.
Required Qualifications
- Strong academic background in Business or Finance
- Degree educated
- Professional qualification such as CA, ACA, or CPA
- Proven experience in a Technical Accounting or Financial Reporting role
- Strong exposure to IFRS frameworks and regulatory environments
- Deep technical expertise in IFRS 9 Financial Instruments
- Experience with derivative and hedge accounting
- Experience with IFRS 15 (Revenue)
- Experience within a commodities-focused business
- Solid commercial acumen
- Experience in commodities
- Exposure to marketing

- Understanding of transaction drivers
- Demonstrated ability to lead consolidation processes
