Specialist Sustainability

Sibelco is seeking a Sustainability Specialist (Mineral Planning & Estates) to join our UK team. You will manage the UK Mineral Estate portfolio (freehold, leasehold, and optioned land), assist in acquiring new mineral reserves, and ensure planning permissions are delivered to enable development. You’ll work closely with landowners/agents to progress land acquisition targets and planning applications, promote strategic land assets within Local Development Plans, represent the company at Examinations in Public, engage with local planning authorities on development proposals, advise on site development, estates management, planning and environmental issues, maintain and develop the UK land asset database linked to GIS, contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments, manage consultancy teams, and engage with stakeholders to maintain community relations. The role requires Chartered Minerals Surveyor (RICS) or Chartered Town Planner (RTPI) qualifications or equivalent professional certifications, with proven experience in the extractive industry, strong communication and organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and willingness to travel across UK sites with occasional overseas travel.
