Job Summary
Contribute to and participate in the education of all clinical staff through departmental orientation, in-servicing, and clinical competence programs. Liaise with the Clinical Midwife Manager regarding staff education needs and make a valuable contribution to the hospital Quality Improvement process. Demonstrate proficiency in all clinical skills relevant to midwifery and the ability to educate staff in formal and informal settings. Maintain high-level interpersonal communication skills and work effectively within a team environment while independently managing tasks. This part-time role is based at Joondalup Health Campus, managed by Ramsay Health Care under a public-private partnership. The position supports the hospital's growth as the major facility for Perth's northern corridor.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold and promote the Ramsay Way core values
- Relevant registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
- Demonstrated post registration and extensive experience in Midwifery Care
- Be proficient in all clinical skills relevant to the chosen field (Midwifery) and demonstrate competency in hospital specific competencies
- Demonstrated ability to educate staff in formal and informal settings
- Knowledge of work contracts and methods of assisting and facilitating learning
- High level interpersonal and (written and verbal) communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Sound computer literacy in all Microsoft programs
- Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
- Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children Check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant post-graduate qualifications
- Completion of preceptorship program or equivalent
- Manual Handling/Basic Life support/Medication assessor competence
- Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment
