Job Summary
Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards related to chemical exposure, ergonomics, and unsafe equipment. Lead the development and rollout of the Major Hazard Management Program while managing industrial hygiene sampling activities, including site PPE and ventilation audits. Develop and implement health and safety procedures, site safety inductions, and employee training programs covering hazard recognition and emergency response. Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions, maintaining accurate records in the Orica Enablon database. Ensure compliance with OSHA, PSM, DOT, and other industry regulations while monitoring and enforcing safety policies. Collect and analyze safety performance data to identify trends and prepare reports for management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health & Environment (preferered), Engineering; or related discipline
- Possess or have the capability to obtain external Safety certificates or certifications
- At least three (3) years of Safety, Health, Environmental and Security experience (preferred)
- Relevant experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in safety management software
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Incident reporting (incl report writing) and investigation (Basic, 5Y, ICAM etc.)
- Ability to build relationships, engage and influence a diverse group of stakeholders
- Knowledge of applicable regulations – include OSHA, PSM, DOT, NFPA, ANSI, EPA, ICMI
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBi)
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Onsite Full-time, with occasional night shift / weekend work

- Relevant experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus
