Job Summary
Specialist Sales Consultant within Barclays/Card Payments on a 12-month secondment/FTC responsible for identifying and selling Acceptance solutions (Gateway, Acquiring, Fraud) using a deep consultancy approach to Barclays customers with a business turnover exceeding £6.5M p.a. You will lead on activities supporting the Acceptance strategy, coordinate across Sales, Professional Services, Product and Marketing, and act as a subject-matter expert. Relevant competencies include: sales consulting, payments/fraud solutions, stakeholder management, data-driven decision making, strong presentation/negotiation skills, and leadership behaviors aligned to Barclays Values. The role can be based in Northampton, London, Birmingham or Glasgow, UK.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in a sales, sales consulting, pre-sales, or analytical role
- Experience with payments gateways and/or fraud solutions
- Working knowledge of global payment schemes, industry dynamics, interchange drivers, and competitor solutions
- Analytical mindset with data-driven insights
- Proven ability to identify and progress commercial opportunities
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills
- Ability to synthesize data from multiple sources
- Knowledge of Barclays product solutions (desirable)
- Experience in B2B Financial Services sector (desirable)
- Data analytics or data consultancy background (desirable)
- Understanding of consumer spending behaviours and growth strategies (desirable)
- Awareness of current economic landscape affecting consumer spend (desirable)
