Job Summary
Collaborate with the Quality System Manager to collect laboratory quality data and monitor the ongoing proficiency testing program. Work with section heads to ensure data accuracy, report findings to the QA Manager, and compile monthly Quality Improvement Advisory Council metrics. Review departmental quality policies with the QA manager to identify educational opportunities for staff. Prepare for and participate in internal and external inspections from the College of American Pathologists and New York State Department of Health, while maintaining Corrective Action records and updating the departmental Quality Management Plan. Attend Quality Management meetings, create minutes, and assist with laboratory safety audits, regulatory rounds, and staff training.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in a medical office/hospital setting
- Excellent communication (both written and oral)

- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Knowledge of Quality Principles
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree In clinical laboratory technology program or in biology, chemistry, or the physical sciences or equivalent preferred
- New York State clinical laboratory technologist license
- Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board of Certification (BOC)
- 3-5 Years of Laboratory Technologist experience
- 3-5 Years of Quality system related experience
