Job Summary
Quality Assurance Specialist for Fresh products (Produce, Meat & Seafood) at Loblaw Companies Limited in Regina, Canada. Responsible for ensuring that inbound and outbound Fresh products meet quality standards at the Distribution level, coordinating with Meat & Seafood/Produce Business Unit, Supply Chain, Distribution and Operations, and liaising with CFIA. Duties include verifying product quality by measuring key metrics, conducting QA auditing (slot checks, inter-branch and distribution checks), documenting findings (rejection reports, QA reports), ongoing communication with QA leadership and cross-functional teams, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting achievement of KPIs. Requires post-secondary education with 2-4 years QA/Operations experience, knowledge of fresh produce and seafood, familiarity with CFIA/USDA standards (asset), and proficiency with Windows-based tools (Excel, Outlook, Office 365); SAP/Manhattan knowledge is an asset. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 refrigerated warehouse environment, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 lbs; night shifts, weekends, and holidays required. The role includes a criminal background check and is based at the Regina location with an in-person work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education
- 2-4 years experience in a Quality Assurance/Operations function preferably within the meat, seafood & Produce industry
- Thorough knowledge of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat & seafood in regard to grades, sizes, colour
- Knowledge of CFIA/USDA standards is an asset
- Computer skills in a Windows environment: Excel, Outlook, Office 365
- Knowledge of SAP and Manhattan is an asset
- Ability to effectively communicate inter-departmentally and at various levels
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, 24/7 refrigerated warehouse environment
- Inspections are completed in warehouse environment
- Must be able to work night shift, weekends, holidays
- Criminal background check required
