Job Summary
Specialist-Pharmacist role delivers comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to optimize medication use and resource management. Responsibilities include managing the pharmacy practice, contributing to unit/department goals, participating in pharmacotherapeutic planning and committees, supervising healthcare team members, providing education and drug information, engaging in projects to enhance patient care, and ensuring safe handling of medication orders with age-specific considerations including sterile product preparation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
- Current, active, unrestricted pharmacy licensure or eligibility with licensure within 120 days
- PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency and/or equivalent clinical experience (minimum)
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
- PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency or equivalent clinical experience
- PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency and/or Pharmacy Board Certification (preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (preferred)
- Active, unrestricted pharmacy licensure (or eligibility with licensure within 120 days)
- Advanced communication and computer skills
- Teaching/precepting capability (precept residents, students, interns)
- Membership with state/national hospital pharmacy associations (preferred)
