Job Summary
Lead clinical team in specialist palliative care as a Nurse Practitioner; provide leadership, ensure safeguarding, implement evidence-based practice, develop roles, delegate and empower staff, supervise rostering, participate in education and audits, contribute to governance and benchmarking.
Required Qualifications
- First level registered nurse with specialist palliative care knowledge
- First degree in a relevant subject area
- Supporting learners in practice (SLIP) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Assessing qualification
- Willingness and commitment to study to Masters’ level
- Accredited advanced communication skills qualification
- Extensive experience of palliative care (NHS AfC band 6 or 7 or equivalent)
- Experience of leading and managing a team
- Experience of teaching (formal and informal), mentoring and assessment
- Evidence of evidence-based practice including promoting research and audit
- Experience of roster and effective resource management
- Experience of quality initiatives and implementing audit/evaluating care delivery through audit
- Experience of developing innovative practice and managing change
- Experience of recruitment and retention
