Specialist - Ophthalmology

Provides ophthalmology care in accordance with DoH standards; monitors the quality of eye care rendered and participates in review/study of difficult and special cases; ensures daily adherence to DoH standards; stays informed on current ophthalmology developments; available for consultation after working hours; coordinates with the HOD in planning programs integrating curative and preventive aspects of total patient care; participates in implementation of approved curative/preventive programs related to Ophthalmology; actively teaches nursing and ancillary staff; participates in requested committees; follows infection control, patient safety, patient assessment, and patient care policies; performs miscellaneous duties as requested by the HOD; participates in quality-related activities as requested by the Medical Director; orients new staff when requested; communicates regularly with HOD and other service members.
