Job Summary
Monitor and evaluate Steelmaking performance KPIs, identify process deviations, and implement corrective actions to improve quality, cost, and throughput. Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses for safety incidents, equipment failures, and production losses while ensuring compliance with environmental and operational regulations. Develop operational work instructions, manage consumables inventory, and coordinate with operations and planning departments to optimize slab logistics and customer service. Generate performance reports, facilitate HIRAC reviews, and support continuous improvement projects focused on productivity and process stability. This role supports the commissioning of the new Steelmaking facility in Calvert, AL, requiring extended hours during peak workloads.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in scrap and alloy management

- Knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Metallurgy, or a related field; or equivalent industry experience
- Technical knowledge of Steelmaking equipment
- Technical knowledge of Steelmaking operations
- Technical knowledge of Steelmaking process control systems
- Experience with root cause analysis
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies
- 2+ years of experience in a Steelmaking-focused specialist, coordinator, engineering, or operational support role
- Experience working in a steel manufacturing environment
- Process control experience in a manufacturing environment
- Troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of Steelmaking processes
- Strong knowledge of Steelmaking equipment
- Strong knowledge of Steelmaking production parameters

- People with heart pacemakers or any other electronic medical device are strictly prohibited from entering the furnace area
