Job Summary
Specialist Manufacturing Associate in upstream drug substance manufacturing at Amgen. Responsible for executing production and process changes, owning corrective and preventative actions, and collaborating on cross-functional projects. Performs hands-on runs and experiments on large-scale equipment, analyzes data, documents operating practices, and contributes to validation, commissioning, qualification, and change management. Acts as process owner for upstream drug substance technologies, mentors junior staff, presents to inspectors, and supports continual improvement with strong data analysis and technical communication skills. On-site in Thousand Oaks, CA with shifting schedules (day, swing, graves, weekends, holidays) in a GMP-cleanroom environment; requires adherence to SOPs and safety/compliance guidelines. Proficiency in data tools (Smartsheet, Excel, Trackwise, Visio, SAP, Spotfire) and ability to lead cross-functional projects and coaching efforts. Required Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: Doctorate degree OR Master’s degree and 2 years of manufacturing and or operations experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of manufacturing and or operations experience OR Associate’s degree and 8 years of manufacturing and or operations experience OR High school diploma / GED and 10 years of manufacturing and or operations experience
