Job Summary
Instrument Specialist III to support design, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation and controls systems for safe plant operations. Responsibilities include analyzing technical challenges, creating/reviewing drawings, monitoring system performance, collecting/analyzing operational data, troubleshooting complex issues, documenting equipment information, supporting data collection for failure analytics, and providing hands-on technical support to the Instrumentation and Controls Reliability Group. Willingness to travel up to 10%, operate company vehicle on site, work extended hours, and meet safety requirements. Must have a High School Diploma or GED and instrumentation/controls experience in the energy industry; preferred additional associate degree and 7+ years of experience. Proficiency in PLC logic solvers, SPI/INtools, HMI/Wonderware, SAP, and reading P&ID/instrument drawings is advantageous. The role is based at Bayway Refinery in Linden, New Jersey.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1 or more years of craftsman level, Instrumentation and controls experience in the Energy industry
- Intermediate proficiency in field instrumentation, process control systems, and troubleshooting practices in an operating plant environment
