Job Summary
Manage day-to-day purchasing activities for assigned raw materials, including creating purchase orders, confirming quantities, and maintaining accurate records. Review material requirements and inventory levels to determine order timing based on established plans, while monitoring open orders and shipment schedules to address delays or shortages. Communicate order updates and negotiate freight costs with suppliers, tracking supply issues to support timely resolution. Maintain all purchasing information in applicable systems and prepare regular status updates for the Materials Management team and headquarters regarding delays and cost changes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in materials management, purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related field
- Experience with purchase orders, supplier communication, inventory monitoring, or materials planning
- Ability to work on-site and maintain flexibility in work hours based on business needs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with ERP, purchasing, or inventory management systems
- Manufacturing experience
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple purchasing activities and priorities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when maintaining purchasing, supplier, and inventory information
- Ability to analyze purchasing and inventory data and identify potential supply or delivery concerns
- Effective written and verbal communication skills when working with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
