Job Summary
Facilitate tobacco-free policy development and implementation by partnering with medical and behavioral health administrators to establish organization-wide systems change for treating tobacco dependence. Coordinate, train clinicians on the 5 A's protocol, and provide technical assistance to ensure sustainable integration of tobacco treatment into clinical care. Evaluate lung health programs, submit timely grant and management reports, and represent the Association in community coalitions and regional workgroups. Cultivate relationships with funders and community partners to support program delivery and growth while participating in statewide seminars and conferences. This home-based role requires periodic travel for meetings and requires a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in public health or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience developing and implementing community awareness, education, and programs specifically related to areas of public health
- Prior experience in public health, community relations, public policy, and/or advocacy
- Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Must be comfortable presenting to large groups and in small group learning environments
- Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Required to travel periodically for health systems partner meetings, Bureau of Tobacco Control (BTC) program meetings and trainings in Albany, coalitions meetings and trainings
- Ability to lift approximately 25 lbs
- Able to work with minimum direct supervision, make decisions, and take initiative
- Proven ability to cultivate and steward relationships across a diverse population
- Must have a valid Driver's license and your own reliable transportation with the ability to travel within assigned area 60% of the time for meetings and conferences, as well as the flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends with some overnights required
- Required to travel statewide to provide technical assistance, meetings and conferences as required by assigned grants
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet applications

Desired Qualifications
- Ability to learn new information pertaining to all tobacco products, stop smoking medications, Tobacco Dependence Treatment protocols, new data from scientific studies
