Job Summary

specialist, Gift Management is responsible for managing all gift and data entry and maintaining data standards within the USO’s development and fundraising database and data management systems. This role functions as an expert within the Gift Management Team, ensuring daily, monthly and annual tasks are completed accurately and timely. The position involves reviewing complex transactions, making binding decisions on gifts and pledges per USO methods and IRS regulations, lead gift entry in fundraising software, maintaining donor records and data integrity, assisting with monthly revenue reconciliation, producing gift reports, handling donor inquiries, and supporting Development Operations policies and procedures. Candidate should be able to navigate donor-advised funds and third-party giving vehicles, review and process donations (including check deposits and wire transfers), and collaborate with fundraising and finance teams. In-person position located in Arlington, VA. Salary range: $48,000–$67,000. Requires high school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred; 1–3 years in fundraising or gift processing; strong collaboration, communication, and data management skills; proficiency with Salesforce, Excel, Fundraise Up; ability to obtain credentials for USO locations.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years work experience in a fundraising or development support role and/or in the Gift Processing area
  • General understanding of fundraising best practices and policies
  • Proficiency with computers and electronics and software including Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, Fundraise Up
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interact with leadership, the general public and military audiences
  • Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Credentialing to access USO Center locations including security, background screening, SOFA status, valid driver’s license
