Job Summary
Conduct screenings for children and make referrals for evaluation. Communicate with parents, caregivers, and agencies regarding child status to develop transition strategies. Create public awareness of Child Find services through outreach to physicians, child care providers, and community agencies. Design and deliver inservice procedures for parents and providers. Assist in maintaining Children's Registry and Information Systems records. Facilitate and coordinate a child's progress from initial referral to placement with FDLRS and the District. Perform Medicaid administrative claims reimbursable activities as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in education or a related field
- Three (3) years of experience in ESE teaching or as a speech/language pathologist, social worker, or school psychologist
- Valid Florida teaching certificate in at least one area of Exceptional Student Education (ESE) or student services
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
- Public speaking skills
- Analytical, mathematical, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in dealing with rapidly changing priorities and demands
- Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and enforce pertinent regulations, policies, and procedures for the functional area of assignment
- Knowledge of and experience using multiple project management tools and methodologies
- Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention
- Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel
- Ability to deliver high-quality customer service in a timely and professional manner
- Ability to work a flexible schedule in outdoor and indoor environments to accommodate client needs, including working from home
