Job Summary

Coordinate and deliver environmental compliance and regulatory support for refinery operations, ensuring process units, utility systems, and projects comply with applicable permits, regulations, and company standards. Interpret permit conditions to provide clear guidance to operations, maintenance, engineering, and project teams, while leading or supporting permitting activities for unit modifications and capital projects. Monitor compliance through tracking, calculations, and reporting to identify trends and risks, and partner with teams to resolve findings from inspections and audits. Prepare inspection-ready documentation and communicate regulatory updates to refinery personnel. This role requires a UK degree or equivalent experience, a valid UK driver's licence, and the ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties, while climbing ladders and working near high-pressure machinery.

Required Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the UK on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions on local terms and conditions.
  • Full, current, valid UK drivers' licence.
  • A degree in an environmental, engineering, scientific, or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Environmental compliance experience
  • Intermediate proficiency working with environmental legislation, permits, and compliance requirements.
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following: Occasionally work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform on-call duties.
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following: Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following: Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions.
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following: Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Environmental compliance experience in a refining, manufacturing, chemical, or other industrial setting
  • Experience with Environmental Management Systems ("EMS")
  • Trained in Emergency Response Incident Command System ("ICS") and procedures
