Job Summary
Develop comprehensive project plans, manage timelines, and oversee procurement for all MEP systems installation from design through commissioning. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, review design drawings for compliance, and conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and resolve conflicts. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, lead coordination meetings with architects and engineers, and manage subcontractor relationships. Control project budgets, track costs against forecasts, and prepare financial reports while ensuring all work adheres to local building codes and safety protocols. Manage punch lists, warranty issues, and risk mitigation strategies to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience managing MEP projects in commercial, industrial, or institutional settings
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex MEP projects on time and within budget
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting MEP drawings, specifications, and building codes
- Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection software (Revit, Navisworks)
- Familiarity with project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or similar)
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Problem-solving aptitude and decision-making abilities under pressure
- Financial acumen and budget management expertise
Desired Qualifications
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certification
- Professional engineering license (PE) in relevant discipline
- LEED accreditation or sustainability certification
- Experience with critical facilities (data centers, hospitals, laboratories)
- Knowledge of energy modeling and building performance analysis
