Job Summary
Specialist Engineer to lead the design and application of Innomotics Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). You will oversee the configuration and modification of equipment per customer requirements, drive AI integration into operation engineering activities, and lead the design, development, and manufacturing of low and medium voltage systems within Innomotics’ MV VFD offerings. The role involves project documentation (technical specifications, drawings, test reports), collaboration with vendors and internal functions, risk monitoring, and ongoing improvement initiatives. Based in New Kensington, PA with a hybrid schedule (1-3 days onsite per week). The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering or related field, 8+ years of industrial experience in power electronics and VFDs, hands-on knowledge of AI systems and current AI trends, strong schematics interpretation, and proven communication and project-management skills.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related discipline required
- 8+ years of industrial experience with direct experience in power electronics, VFDs (AC/DC), and electrical machinery
- Application knowledge of AI systems; including building and implementing language models
- Familiarity with current AI trends, including generative AI, AI agents, and practical applications of intelligent technologies in engineering and operations
- Advanced knowledge of industrial controls, including relay logic
- Understand variable frequency drives and their applications
- Ability to read schematics and interpret customer specifications
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- MS Office or similar computer skills
- Knowledge of organizational business practices and operation
- Possess a familiarity with and follow all engineering policies and procedures
