Specialist, Electrical Engineer

Job Summary
Lead and mentor a small team of electrical design engineers (2–5 engineers) to design and develop electrical systems for aircraft and ground stations. Design system wiring diagrams and panels using CAD tools (Capital Harness System, NX), prepare engineering drawings, and coordinate with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure designs meet requirements at minimum cost. Opportunity to work on avionics, RF, LAN, data processing, sensor systems, and power distribution hardware, with responsibilities including leading design activities, drawing status updates, budgeting estimates, and training junior engineers. Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance and work in a defense/aerospace environment; Travel to flight lines and aircraft hangars; contribute to system integration and testing efforts while adhering to L3Harris processes and methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience OR Graduate Degree with minimum 2 years of related experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum 8 years of related experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
- Travel to and from flight line and ability to work in aircraft hangar environments
- Experience with CAD tools including NX and Capital Harness System; familiarity with Teamcenter is a plus
- Leadership or mentoring experience leading a small team of engineers
- Strong collaboration with Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production to meet requirements at minimum cost
- Experience in defense/aerospace environment and understanding of SOW/Requirements
- Knowledge of avionics, RF, data processing, and electrical power distribution systems
