Job Summary
Support quality control assessments of data security controls across cloud and on-premises platforms, validating technical controls protecting sensitive data and identifying gaps for remediation tracking. Review security control configurations for alignment with policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining documentation and evidence for audits. Monitor changes to data security platforms, assist with ongoing control validation, and prepare reports and dashboards for leadership. Stay current on emerging technologies and threats to support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance data security processes and operational efficiency. Report to the Data Security Lead, collaborating with platform owners and business stakeholders to strengthen the organization's overall data security posture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity and data security principles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies and business priorities
- Familiarity with cloud and on-premises security technologies
- Understanding of security controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance
Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to technologies such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) is preferred
- Experience supporting audits, documentation, or security assessments is a plus
- GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (or pursuing)
- Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty
