Job Summary

Produce a wide range of district content, including web blog stories, newsletters, news releases, bond updates, parent communiqués, and media responses. Assist with event planning, district publications, and the production of executive communications such as speeches and talking points. Provide editing support to the communications team and train personnel in communications best practices. Maintain the district's brand as a member of the communications team while participating in professional growth opportunities. Work independently with prolonged computer use and irregular hours.

Required Qualifications

  • Portfolio of work (writing samples)
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications or related field from an accredited College or University
  • Three years demonstrated success in writing and editing general organizational communications, including strategic communiqués for executives
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skills in writing and editing
  • Strong copy-editing and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) Stylebook
  • Ability to use desktop publishing hardware and software
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Physical mobility
  • Standing
  • Prolonged sitting
  • Prolonged use of computer
  • Some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 15lbs
  • Prolonged and irregular hours
  • Ability to work independently

Desired Qualifications
