Job Summary
Ensure patient records and documentation remain accurate, compliant, and up to date by gathering outside hospital records, test results, and discharge information. Welcome and assist patients in person and over the phone, manage referral work queues, and coordinate appointments while verifying patient information. Complete initial reviews of outside records, update EPIC with pertinent data, and compose letters for patients regarding utilities or work excuses. Monitor internal referral queues, track compliance with regulatory requirements, and handle administrative functions such as telephone triage, mail, and calendar management. Maintain and troubleshoot office equipment, including printers and fax machines, and ensure all necessary documents are available for established care visits and discharges.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Five years in a health care setting
- General knowledge of medical terminology
- Proficient MA office skills
- EPIC experience
- Bilingual skills (demographic level)
- E-Verify Program Participation
- Completion of a background check
