Job Summary
Specialist in Classification and Compensation oversees the University's classification and compensation programs, conducts market salary research and benchmarking, and serves as the primary administrator for compensation surveys. Leads the development and maintenance of job descriptions, ensures accurate FLSA exemption status and proper job classification, and approves new hire salary recommendations. Plays a key role in ensuring compliance with wage-and-hour laws, collaborates with HR leadership on Workday Adaptive Insights and workforce planning, and supports raises and faculty/staff letters. Provides guidance on pay decisions, policy interpretation, and job evaluation, and participates in HR system implementations and special projects. Requires a Master’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience; CCP preferred; higher education experience and Workday experience preferred. Strong analytical, communication, and confidentiality skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business administration, human resources, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years’ prior relevant work experience
- Experience conducting pay equity analyses and compensation program design
- CCP from World at Work organization preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ higher education experience preferred
- Experience with Workday preferred
