Specialist Calibration Technician

Job Summary
Execute routine and non-routine calibrations for production equipment according to approved procedures and GMP standards. Coordinate internal and external calibration activities, review certificates, and document Out-of-Tolerance events to ensure compliance with FDA and ISO requirements. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and support audit readiness while managing calibration schedules and troubleshooting measurement equipment. Requires an Associate Degree in a technical field and 2–5 years of calibration experience. Based in Grecia, Costa Rica, this role reports to the Lead Technician within the Production Equipment Repair & Maintenance unit.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or Technical Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Electromechanical, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, Metrology, or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in calibration, metrology, maintenance, or a related technical field
- Experience performing calibrations of measuring and test equipment (temperature, pressure, humidity, electrical, dimensional, timers, scales, etc.)
- Knowledge of metrology fundamentals, measurement uncertainty, traceability, and calibration principles
- Ability to execute calibration procedures, work instructions, and job plans accurately
- Experience coordinating external calibration services and tracking calibration schedules
- Familiarity with CMMS systems (MAXIMO preferred) for work order execution, documentation, and calibration record management
- Knowledge of GMP, FDA regulated environments, ISO 13485, and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
- Experience supporting investigations related to Out-of-Tolerance (OOT) conditions and nonconformances
- Ability to review calibration certificates and verify compliance with internal requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic data analysis
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills for managing multiple calibration activities simultaneously
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
- English proficiency (read, write, and communicate technical information)
Desired Qualifications
