Job Summary
Specialist: Audit role in the Taxpayer Engagement and Operations – Specialised Audit division. Conduct advanced audits of high complexity across tax types and entities to influence compliance, provide technical support to other auditors, and identify tax risks using advanced knowledge of tax, corporate law, and related legislation. Responsibilities include analysing complex transactions, recommending system and process improvements, conducting audits with digital tools, engaging with Litigation and Dispute management, potentially testifying in civil or criminal court, and coordinating with legal counsel. Requires an Honours degree in Accounts/Tax or related studies and professional registrations (CA(SA) or equivalent) with 8 years of audit experience; CFA/ACCA/SAIPA/ACFE registrations advantageous. Behavioural and technical competencies include governance, planning, data analysis, reporting, and tax knowledge, with emphasis on providing expert guidance and stakeholder service.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7 or higher) in Audit/Tax/Accounting and 8 years' experience in an audit environment
- Applicable professional registrations: SAICA, SAIT, CFA, ACCA, SAIPA, ACFE
