Job Summary

Advanced Academic Services Specialist – Elementary, Exempt, reports to Director of Advanced Academic Services. Supports the implementation of Advanced Academic Services at the elementary level by building teacher capacity through instructional support, professional learning, and data-informed practices, while ensuring aligned curriculum, instruction, and assessment systems and contributing to extended learning opportunities that provide rigorous experiences for advanced academic and gifted students in alignment with district priorities. Responsibilities include designing, modeling, and supporting instructional strategies and lessons; promoting advanced academic learning and differentiation; supporting GT services, AVID WICOR framework, EduHub and HQIM resources; aligning curriculum, instruction, and assessment systems across campuses; engaging in data-driven PLCs; facilitating professional development and coaching for teachers; collaborating on GT identification processes; supporting MTSS structures for advanced learners; leading data tours and walkthroughs; and coordinating extended learning opportunities (e.g., Camp SIP, Saturday programming). Key skills include gifted education training, curriculum design, data interpretation, professional learning design and delivery, collaboration across campuses, and strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned
  • Must obtain the TEA/Gifted (GT) certificate/endorsement within one year of serving as a Gifted/Talented Program Teacher
