Job Summary
Special Testing Technician to perform ophthalmic testing (OCT, Visual Field Testing, IOL Master/A-Scan, Fundus photography, topography, pachymetry, axial length) and document results in the EMR system. Role includes administering eye drops, maintaining/disinfecting examination rooms, assisting physicians and other ophthalmology providers, transporting patients within the facility, and providing training to technicians. Requires comfortable interaction with patients, proficiency with EMR and Microsoft Word/Excel, typing around 45 wpm, and knowledge of ophthalmic terminology. Bilingual skills are a plus; must thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Degree preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in an Ophthalmic Clinic preferred
- Knowledge of EMR, MS Word, and Excel; ability to type 45 wpm
- Familiarity with ophthalmic terminology preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Bilingual speaking skills are a plus
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask, detail-oriented, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable attendance and promptness
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies
