Job Summary
Lead complex inspections, advanced diagnostics, and specialized engineering project executions for commercial/industrial PV and energy storage systems in high-voltage environments. Own projects on site, oversee subcontracted labor and junior technicians, mentor staff through the Field Tech Development Pathway, perform advanced preventative maintenance and diagnostics (e.g., infrared thermography, I/V tracing), and ensure safety and quality standards while traveling up to 75% to project sites.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2–4 years of demonstrated experience with electrical systems, solar O&M, installation, or commissioning
- OSHA 30-hour certification
- NFPA 70e certification
- FAA Part 107 certification (and drone operation for aerial thermographic purposes)
- NABCEP certification (PV Installer, PV Commissioning & Maintenance Specialist, or O&M Specialist) is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from complex electrical schematics and PV system as-builts
- Willingness to travel up to 75% on short notice and to work outside traditional business hours
Desired Qualifications
- NABCEP certification (PV Installer, PV Commissioning & Maintenance Specialist, or O&M Specialist)
- OSHA 30-hour certification
- NFPA 70e certification
- FAA Part 107 Certification (and proficiency operating drones for aerial thermographic purposes)
- Experience leading subcontracted labor and mentoring junior technicians
- Ability to read complex electrical schematics and PV system as-builts
