Job Summary
Oversee rotating and seasonal projects within OYEA by managing timelines, deliverables, and follow-up while maintaining organized files and documentation. Actively communicate with city agencies, community organizations, schools, and external stakeholders to support youth initiatives, including direct outreach, focus groups, and listening sessions. Assist with logistical tasks such as purchasing, space reservations, outreach campaigns, and tracking project budgets and invoices. Connect Language Other Than English speakers with translation and language services as needed. Demonstrate professionalism and accountability when working with youth and diverse communities across Boston. Report to the Deputy Director and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development. This one-year rotating position requires meaningful engagement with diverse communities, flexible hours including nights and weekends, and offsite travel. BOSTON RESIDENCY IS REQUIRED.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of full, or equivalent part-time, experience
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred and may be substituted for two (2) years of required experience
- Bilingual preferred
- The ability to serve as a role model for youth and to positively engage with diverse communities
- Interest in public service, civic engagement, youth services & programs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required
- Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Flexible schedule as some nights and weekends may be required
- Travel offsite is required
- Knowledge of the City of Boston and its neighborhoods is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications and Google Suite
- Driver's license preferred
