Job Summary
Review referrals and diagnostic reports to determine appropriate interventions for students with disabilities. Provide training and support for special education and general education teachers while ensuring all legal requirements are met. Conduct ARD, 504, and LPAC meetings with principals and staff to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Schedule and document student services with employed or contracted providers. Assist classroom teachers with implementation of special populations plans and offer coaching to Special Education and Dyslexia teachers. Consult parents, teachers, and administrators regarding educational needs and assessment data interpretation. Support the campus-initiated referral process and respond to parent requests for evaluations according to applicable rules. Compile and maintain all physical and computerized reports, records, and documents required by law.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Special Education
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher
- Excellent Organizational, Communication, and Interpersonal Skills
