Job Summary
Perform special/invasive radiology procedures on patients, ensuring compliance with radiation safety protocols by preparing patients, administering contrast, positioning them for exams, and selecting appropriate imaging techniques. Enter and monitor patient data while conducting quality assurance on radiology equipment and assisting with accreditation applications. Report accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management and take emergency calls within the department. Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards. Support professional growth through mandatory continuing education and serve as a preceptor and mentor to less experienced staff.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support
- Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT)
- Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R)
- Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions
