Job Summary
Implement clinical counseling, conduct screenings, and manage case services for active-duty Special Operations personnel, retired members, and their families. Deliver individual, family, and group psychotherapy while providing alcohol and drug treatment evaluations. Serve as the primary point of contact for behavioral health interventions, including behavioral assessments and evidenced-based treatments for psychological disorders. Plan and execute programs fostering healthy relationships within unit structures. Maintain harmonious working relationships across the POTFF program, DoD agencies, and external partners. Requires a Master's degree, current state licensure as an LMFT or LPC, and a Secret or Top-Secret clearance. BCLS certification is mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in one of the behavioral sciences
- Credentialing and Privileging standards
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Current state license to practice independently as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Professional Counselor
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Two years of post-graduate experience in various modalities
- Skill to provide individual, group, couples, and family treatment/counseling
- Clinical membership credential issued by the AAMFT (for LMFT)
- Passed the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE) or an examination determined by the Director, Defense Health Agency or designee as equal in scope, intent, and content to the NCMHCE (for LPC)
- Master's or doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) (for LMFT)
- A qualifying graduate degree in an allied mental health field from a regionally accredited education institution in conjunction with a program of marriage and family therapy study that is equivalent to the COAMFTE standards as defined by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) (for LMFT)
- Master's or higher-level degree from a mental health counseling program of education and training accredited for Mental Health Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (for LPC)
- Post-master's degree counseling practice qualifying for independent licensure (for LPC)
- Must possess a license for independent practice as either a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or a Licensed Professional Counselor from a U.S. state, territory, or district
- Must have a current state license to practice independently as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
