Job Summary
Special Operations Licensed Mental Health Counselor (On-Site) provides individual, group, couples, and family therapy and behavioral health interventions to active-duty Special Operations personnel, retirees, and families within the POTFF program. The role requires a Master’s degree in behavioral sciences with licensure as either LMFT or LPC, COAMFTE/AAMFT credentialing, current clinical licensure, BCLS certification, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret or Top-Secret clearance. Responsibilities include conducting screenings, clinical counseling, case management, prevention programming, and coordinating with DoD and partner agencies to foster unit connectedness and healthy family relationships. On-site at Davis Monthan AFB, AZ (locations may include related bases in the region); travel not specified, but on-site presence required. Must demonstrate experience with modalities including individual, group, couples, and family therapy, and be capable of delivering evidenced-based therapies across clinical settings.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in one of the behavioral sciences and able to meet Credentialing and Privileging standards
- LMFT Requirements must include: Master’s or doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy from a COAMFTE-accredited program, or an equivalent allied degree with MFT study per AAMFT standards; clinical membership credential issued by AAMFT
- LPC Requirements: Passed NCMHCE or equivalent; Master’s or higher-level degree in Mental Health Counseling; post-master’s counseling practice qualifying for independent licensure; two years of post-graduate experience in various modalities; ability to obtain and maintain state license as LMFT or LPC
- Current state license to practice independently as LMFT or LPC
- Must possess Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification as required for credentialing at servicing medical treatment facilities
- Must possess license for independent practice as either LMFT or LPC from a U.S. state/territory/district
