Job Summary
Special Needs Support Worker to provide individualized care to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and/or physical disabilities in home and community settings; responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene tasks (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding), light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, mobility support, accompanying clients to medical appointments, community events, and activities, and teaching or reinforcing life skills such as cooking, budgeting, time management, and appropriate social behaviors. Must build trusting relationships, follow individualized care and behavior support plans, respond calmly to emotional/behavioral needs, and work within a care team. Requires reliability, organization, and ability to work independently or under supervision. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are typically required to assist with community integration. Training may be provided for the right individual. Flexible hours may be available, including full-time, part-time, and weekend shifts.
