Job Summary
Provide attentive one-on-one care and companionship for a nonverbal 17-year-old, supporting communication through gestures, RPM, and a letter board. Assist with dressing, personal hygiene, and bathing, while accompanying the teen on daily hikes, walks, and swimming. Prepare gluten-free meals, manage light housekeeping and laundry, and drive to local appointments. Handle grocery shopping, household organization, and packing for an upcoming relocation. This live-in role in Great Falls, VA, includes 35 guaranteed weekly hours, private accommodations, and benefits such as paid time off. The household features two large hypoallergenic dogs and requires a strong swimmer with current CPR/First Aid certification.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a strong, confident swimmer and comfortable swimming
- Active and physically able to keep up with an energetic teen
- Valid driver's license
- Comfortable with two large hypoallergenic dogs in the home
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
