Job Summary
Tutor individuals or small groups of students with disabilities, reinforcing and implementing instruction as directed by the teacher. Administer medications and injections subject to appropriate training and state law requirements. Transport students to and from activities, assist with treatment preparation, and monitor behavior according to approved procedures. Provide physical assistance with daily tasks such as dressing, moving between rooms, and using the lavatory. Ensure student health and safety by following regulations while directing assigned group activities and monitoring lunchroom and playground areas. Perform routine clerical duties including preparation of instructional materials. Participate in meetings and professional development training programs as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- successful completion of KPA
- completed two years of study at an institution of higher education
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience in working with children in an organized setting
