Job Summary

Lead the development and execution of resolution strategies for large, highly complex Commercial Real Estate problem loans, including restructurings, forbearances, note sales, bankruptcies, and asset dispositions. Negotiate with borrowers and representatives to secure repayment agreements while managing both bilateral and syndicated credits, including serving as Agent for syndicated facilities. Evaluate borrower, sponsor, guarantor, collateral, and market conditions to identify recovery opportunities and formulate loss mitigation strategies. Present complex credits, risk assessments, and recommended action plans to Senior Management and provide strategic guidance to internal business line partners regarding deteriorating loan situations. Maintain current knowledge of laws, regulations, and rulings related to insolvency and loan enforcement. Mentors junior workout professionals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field
  • Ten to fifteen years of experience in commercial lending and loan services activities
  • This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week
  • Applicants must be able to comply with U.S. Bank policies and procedures including the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and related workplace conduct and safety policies

Desired Qualifications

  • Master Degree preferred
  • Commercial Real Estate Loan expertise
  • C&I Loan expertise is preferred
  • Prior experience with large, syndicated credits
  • Experience serving as the Agent of syndicated credits
  • Expert knowledge of specialized lending collections including managing litigation
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial lending, loan services and credit policy/procedure
  • Advanced knowledge of loan collections and workout, loan processing/documentation and credit analysis
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiating, and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
