Job Summary

Electronically submit prescription insurance claims, complete benefits investigations, and review new prescriptions to ensure all necessary information is available for processing. Act as the primary liaison between the company, patients, physicians, manufacturers, and third-party payers while explaining all company programs and services. Communicate with patients regarding refills, confirm addresses, inform of co-payments, and notify of payment responsibilities, referring medication or illness questions to licensed healthcare professionals as needed. Process and follow up on payer denials, troubleshoot escalated inquiries, and manage documentation of all calls and tasks. Maintain current knowledge of manufacturer programs, ensure compliance with reporting requirements, and support the call center and resource team with technical training and process testing.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Active Oregon Pharmacy Technician License

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate in a team setting
  • Proficiency in standard workplace software and/or information management applications
  • Prior experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
  • Ability to navigate computer applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • 2 years' work experience in a pharmacy setting, including 1 year of experience working in specialty pharmacy
