Job Summary
Create a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for special needs children during drop-off and pickup, maintaining constant supervision to ensure their well-being. Build positive relationships with families by warmly welcoming them and assist with bathroom needs, including diaper changing when required. Maintain a clean, organized classroom by sweeping floors, disinfecting surfaces, sanitizing toys, and removing trash at the end of each shift. Complete accident reports and communicate incidents with supervisors and parents while following all safety policies and procedures. Serve as a positive Christian role model through your words, actions, and attitude. Work Sundays at 9am or 11am and Thursdays from 5:45–8:45 PM, including a monthly evening event, on-site in Special Friends classrooms.
Required Qualifications
- At least 16 years of age
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work well with Special Needs of varying ages
- Willingness to submit to the accountability standards of Brookwood Church
- Ability to follow directions and work under the supervision of the Special Friends Childcare Supervisor
- Ability to actively supervise special needs children
- Ability to lift and carry young special needs children, when necessary
- Ability to sit on the floor
- Ability to bend
- Ability to assist with classroom setup and cleanup
