Job Summary
Special Events Worker I is responsible for supporting academic, social, and cultural events at Georgetown University through general cleaning, delivering, setup and breakdown of equipment (tables, chairs, podiums, stages, coat racks, and other items), and transporting furniture across campus. The role requires operating tools (hand and power tools), installing temporary flooring, following safety protocols, and providing customer-service–oriented support. The position may involve working nights, weekends, and early mornings, with potential overtime, and requires teamwork and independent work to ensure tasks align with event plans and department policies.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED
- One year of janitorial, Special Events setup, or general laborer work experience
- Valid driver’s license issued from DC/MD/VA
- DOT medical card/certificate
- Ability to lift and carry 50-75 lbs regularly
- Ability to read and understand product label instructions and University policies
