Job Summary
Special Educator responsible for teaching students and implementing ABA-informed practices within the district's Skills program; duties include teaching targeted skills, conducting IEP meetings and maintaining related paperwork, monitoring progress and revising IEPs, co-teaching in regular or substantially separate settings, preparing students for post-high school transition, and communicating with school personnel and parents. Requires DESE licensure with SEI Endorsement, experience with the IEP process, and strong communication skills; emphasis on culturally responsive programs to engage diverse students. Physical demands include routine activity and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Resources and collaboration with a culturally diverse teaching and learning community are prioritized.
Required Qualifications
- Requisite licensure as defined by the DESE and SEI Endorsement
- Experience implementing all parts of the IEP process
- Attendance at departmental and school-wide meetings
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to support culturally diverse programs and activities
