Job Summary
Develop, coordinate, and implement vision services for infants and toddlers with visual impairments through home-based and community-based delivery within King County. Provide caregiver coaching to enhance skill development, conduct functional vision assessments, and coordinate enrollment into community programs and case management meetings. Guide county-wide Early Support teams on evaluation best practices and monitor child progress while collaborating with state resources to ensure equitable access. Complete and maintain accurate client records and data for program evaluation and funding documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Master's (preferred) or Bachelor's degree in Special Education
- Current Washington State Teaching Certificate, or can obtain a Washington State Teaching Certificate
- Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired from an accredited and nationally recognized university program
- Previous experience of 5 years in working with infants and young children with special needs is preferred
- Ability to pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications
- Ability to work with and embrace a diverse population, recognizing needs and focusing on Boyer's overall mission
- Action-oriented and solution-oriented with superior attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to express self effectively, both orally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to earn trust and communicate, both in writing and verbally, at all levels and disciplines within and outside the organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Must possess a valid Washington State Drivers' license and automobile insurance if driving a vehicle
