Job Summary
Deliver individualized educational sessions to students with ADHD and autism while mentoring neurotypical middle school students in academic and personal development. Develop tailored lesson plans accommodating diverse learning needs, monitor student progress, and provide feedback to adjust strategies as necessary. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and specialists to ensure cohesive support for each student's educational journey, creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages engagement. Commit at least 15 hours weekly for the full school year, with full-time availability for qualified candidates. This role supports AJ Tutoring and Cypress College Prep, sister organizations in Menlo Park offering after-school tutoring and accredited school programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
- Experience working with students with ADHD and autism
- Strong mentoring and interpersonal skills with a passion for working with middle school students
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to develop and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Commitment of at least 15 hours/week for the full school year
